Intensive course work designed for recent MSW graduates and experienced practitioners taking ASWB Social Work Licensing Examinations

SWES lecture courses are two-day programs offered on weekends throughout the year. The first day of the program starts at 9:00am and ends at 5:00pm. The second day also starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:30. Regular breaks are provided throughout the day.

The course focuses on test preparation and content review. All major clinical areas are covered with a special emphasis on test-taking skills using sample multiple-choice questions in the style of those found on found on license exams. The course and review books provide extensive practice with multiple-choice questions.


The typical course schedule includes sessions on:

  • Test-Taking Skills - participants take a brief test and review questions and strategies for test taking.
  • A Review of Human Behavior and Psychopathology
  • Work with special populations; the elderly, children and families, addictions
  • DSM5
  • Clinical Practice with Individuals and Groups - including ethics and laws affecting social workers.

    Every registrant receives the three volume Social Work Examination Services Comprehensive Study Guide. The Guide contains a complete content review and over 1600 sample multiple-choice questions including Four Practice Examinations, and a bibliography. The Review Books are also available as a home study program.
